Diamond Challenge
The Diamond Challenge is one of the world’s most recognised entrepreneurship competitions for high school students, empowering young innovators to transform their ideas into viable ventures. Founded by the University of Delaware’s Horn Entrepreneurship programme, it provides a real-world learning experience that bridges creativity, business strategy, and social impact.
Students compete in either the Business Innovation or Social Innovation track, submitting a written concept and a short video pitch before advancing to regional and global rounds. Finalists are invited to the annual Diamond Challenge Summit, where they pitch before global judges for a share of over $100,000 in prizes. The competition attracts thousands of participants from more than 50 countries, creating a vibrant global network of teen entrepreneurs.
Blue Ocean Competition
The Blue Ocean Competition challenges high school students worldwide to identify new market spaces—what strategists call “blue oceans”—and develop unique business ideas that create value without competition. It is entirely virtual, making it one of the most accessible and inclusive entrepreneurship contests for teenagers across continents.
Participants prepare and submit a concise five-minute video pitch that highlights their innovation, value proposition, and strategic insight. Each year, tens of thousands of students from over 160 countries enter the contest, making it the largest entrepreneurship competition for teens. Winners receive cash prizes and international recognition, while all participants gain valuable experience in strategic thinking and communication.
Genius Olympiad
Genius Olympiad is an international high school competition focused on environmental sustainability through research, innovation, and creative problem-solving. Students can enter across multiple disciplines — including Science, Engineering, Business, Robotics, Art, and Music — as well as the Entrepreneurship category, which challenges young innovators to develop environmentally responsible business ideas and market-ready solutions that address real-world ecological issues.
Selected finalists from more than 70 countries gather each year at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York to present their projects to international judges. The event celebrates youth innovation and environmental responsibility, offering medals, certificates, and scholarships. The inclusion of the Entrepreneurship discipline further strengthens Genius Olympiad’s global reputation as a platform where sustainability, creativity, and practical venture creation come together.
SAGE Global
SAGE Global is a worldwide movement that inspires teenagers to launch social and business ventures addressing community challenges. It provides a global stage for young innovators to showcase how entrepreneurship can drive positive change and sustainable development.
The competition operates through a tiered system: school teams compete nationally, and top-performing teams advance to the annual SAGE World Cup. Each year’s event brings together student entrepreneurs from over 25 countries to present real ventures before global judges. Projects are assessed on innovation, sustainability, and social impact, with winners recognised as the world’s top youth enterprises.
Global Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (GYEC)
The Global Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (GYEC) is a fast-paced, one-day global innovation marathon for high school teams. It challenges students to devise sustainable business solutions for real-world problems—such as climate change, health, or education—within just twelve hours.
Teams from around the world receive a surprise challenge on competition day, then collaborate virtually to produce a two-page proposal and a short video pitch for evaluation. The online format allows hundreds of students to compete simultaneously, showcasing creativity under pressure. Winning teams receive trophies and international recognition, while all participants earn certificates and judges’ feedback.
Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA)
The Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) is the world’s leading competition for university students who actively run their own businesses. Organised by the Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO), GSEA celebrates ambitious student-founders who balance education with entrepreneurship.
Competitors advance through local and national rounds before reaching the prestigious Global Finals, which brings together the most promising young business leaders from over 90 countries. Winners share a prize pool exceeding $100,000 and gain global media exposure, mentorship, and networking with established entrepreneurs. GSEA has helped launch some of the most inspiring student-led ventures worldwide.
TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE Global)
TYE Global is an initiative by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) that nurtures entrepreneurial thinking among high school students through mentoring, workshops, and real-world competition. It begins at the local chapter level, where students learn core business principles and develop their ideas into workable ventures.
Winning teams from each chapter progress to the TYE Global Finals—an international event that gathers the best student entrepreneurs from around the world. The programme combines experiential learning with exposure to global networks, encouraging young innovators to turn classroom concepts into scalable start-ups. Past participants have gone on to receive investment, incubation, and widespread recognition.
Harvard Crimson Business Competition (HCBC)
Organised by The Harvard Crimson, the Harvard Crimson Business Competition is a prestigious case-based contest designed for middle and high school students who wish to explore real-world business challenges. It encourages critical thinking, analytical skills, and creativity through problem-solving and innovation.
Students participate in multiple rounds—starting with online case submissions and culminating in an on-campus championship at Harvard University. Finalists gain exposure to the Harvard academic environment and pitch before experienced judges and mentors. The competition blends intellectual rigour with practical business insight, making it a premier global experience for aspiring young entrepreneurs.
